Carlos Alberto Silva, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Quantitative Forest Science · University of Florida

Dr. Silva directs SilvaLab and studies how forest ecosystems change through natural and human-induced disturbances and how those changes affect the carbon cycle. His research develops statistical frameworks and open-source tools that connect LiDAR with multi- and hyperspectral satellite observations to understand forest structure, function and composition across spatial scales.
